Review: Masala Thosai @ 11 Cheong Chin Nam Road (Bukit Timah, opposite Beauty World)

A visit was made on Thursday 4 January 2021 at 11.30am.

Ordered masala thosai with ice lemon tea. The spices for the thosai are nice but the thosai itself is a disappointment. Not crispy at all. Too soft (almost soggy) and the inside content is little. Perhaps because it is $3? I wouldnt come back for the thosai.

Branding and Customer Service

Al Azhar is a well known makan place and they do have loyal customers from what can see. However in this visit, I feel that their customer service has taken a step back. No ordering like we used to. Y0u now have to scan the QR code and download their menu. I can tell you it is not easy to find the meal you want as the navigation is not friendly. For example it took me awhile to find the masala thosai because I didnt know it is parked under South Indian category. it is a far cry from the previous laminated menu that you can see in one glance. The whole idea of making it IT-friendly is to facilitate order and create convenience to the customers but this implementation has created the opposite.
