Times are tough. We are in the midst of winding down our Woodlands outlet.
But we are still blessed to have a roof over our head and a few outlets to call our own.
We thought about it and we want to give back to the society albeit still treading water ourselves.
We have always believed that giving will not make us poorer and it has been something both of us believed in since we started the stall back in 2017.
So from tomorrow onwards, each outlet will be giving away free 5 bowls of regular prawn mee for dine in customers who somehow find themselves struggling to afford a meal. No questions asked, no judgement at all.
Limited to the first 5 customers of the day at all our outlets until end of the year.
Just tell our staff you want to redeem a bowl of regular prawn mee.
It has been a tough 1.5 years for all of us in the F&B business and other industries too. So this is us, lending a hand. ce your ad here for just $50 a month.

Rice not oily as most chicken rice and the chicken not that fresh. Sambal, not the usual chicken rice type. But because it was a cold wet Saturday afternoon it looks attractive on the billboard and I am sold. Or perhaps, It is really actually an ayam penyet rice and not chicken rice...

Review by Naya Rais

Managed to check out the new halal French cafe at Arab Street. For starters, I had the fried chicken wings which was marinated in sweet & spicy chilli sauce. Would rate it a 3/5 - was good but nothing significant. For main, I ordered the spicy prawn linguine which had 3 different spice levels. I chose the level 2 which was good enough for me and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Service was tiptop - was often checked upon to ensure everything I ordered was out and was to my liking. Definitely worth a try! Overall experience 4 out of 5. One downfall is you might walk past the place without noticing as it is located along the streets with a lot of other shops/cafes! Make sure to keep a look out or get your GPS out.

A sudden craving for Laksa had me travelling quite a distance from my comfort zone in Chai Chee to Mukmin Restaurant at Blk 129 Bedok North Avenue 2. This non-discreet stall tucked at a corner came highly recommended among the few Laksa sellers in Bedok. Truth be told it was a tad too salty for my liking. It could be better with more santan (coconut milk). The lack of enough santan brought out the fishiness of the gravy which rendered the dish overall salty. I reckon the stall is much better off with its Kacang Pool which quite a number of customers were ordering on this rainy day, Friday 8th January 2020. At $3, the Laksa was alright but the salty aftertaste lingered.

Arabica Fries Kebab @ Marsiling MallBy Fahmi RaisReview: Fries Kebab @ Marsiling Mall A recently opened stall at Marsiling Mall foodstall, this Arabica Kebab is a nice and different addition. Serving great tasting kebabs, I tried the Salad Kebab ($5) and Fries Kebab ($6). The portion is good and the chicken is grilled well. Definitely recommended for kebab lovers wanting a taste in a neighbourhood estate at local foodcourt prices.
Green Chilli Chicken RiceBy Fahmi RaisStumbled upon this food stall by accident and intrigue by the queue. So I tried the food and oh my was it different and delicious. The green chilli and the crackers made this chicken rice unlike any other chicken rice I have ever tried. Great in its own category. The chicken was served served in the traditional chicken rice cut and portion but more like ayam penyet style. So it was generous and I ended up ordering an extra rice (at just 50 cents, the chicken rice meal itself is a justified $5). I would come back to try this again and I recommend you to visit this place. It will be worth your time and trip.
Boat Noodle @ Causeway PointBy Fahmi RaisReview: The Boat Noodle @ Causeway Point I have visited Boat Noodle twice in JB so upon knowing that there is a new opening of the Halal Boat Noodle in Causway Point, I drop by the place with my wife and son. So we ordered several bowls, a sticky mango rice meal and a rice meal. Because of the opening promotion, each bowl (mini-bowls) is 60 cents instead of $1.50. with drinks for 3, the whole meal costs almost $60, on the above average considering that the bowls are already priced low and we didn't order that much. I also felt the taste and variety to be better in JB. So for the novelty of the experience, it is good but for the food, it is not that great enough to warrant a come back anytime soon. The mango was sour and that is something that kitchen should be aware of before serving the customers with pride.
Nasi Lemak Pizza @ PizzahutBy Ckin05The taste of the nasi lemak is so authentic. The crunchiness of the ikan bilis, the sweetness of the sambal tumis, the boiled egg, the cutie small cucumber and the breaded chicken are all very satisfying and fit into the soft dough. At first , it seems like as if it would taste funny but actually it taste exactly what the original Nasi Lemak except its in a form of pizza. I give a rating of 4.5/5.
White rice set meal @ KomalasBy Fahmi RaisReview: White Rice Meal @ Komalas Villa Komalas is a place that I must visit at least twice a year. And since I have been there since 1990 so we are looking at more than 60 visits easily over the past 31 years. I have therefore seen the price change from $4 to now $10 for the same meal that I have been enjoying through the years. So a trip down to Komalas at Serangoon is a trip made to one of the most established vegetarian restaurants managed by father to now the son. The meal has maintained its consistency. You will get to taste different vege dishes as they change the menu every day. What you will enjoy if you are a big eater is the free flow of food - rice and everything on the tray with banana leaf. I have to say that I am addicted to the white rice meal and for every visit, I am always in anticipation of what the verge dishes combination will be served. And to accompany the truly filling meal is a masala tea. If you are there for dinner, supper would no longer be required. Enjoy the authentic South Indian serving and the many others they have on the menu. So if you don't mind the price, you will enjoy the set.
