Thai Fish Burger

Review: Thai Fish Burger @ Citrus by the Pool
Surprising almost a full house during the visit. Ordered homemade Thai Fish Burger and Red Tom Yam Chicken with Rice. The Thai Fish Burger is about $16 and the Tom Yam is $17 (the Tom Yam is a set with drink). The burger is quite sizeable with generous fries as the side. The Tom Yam taste good, rich in taste and ingredients and a little on the spicy side but great. Both are value for money.

Poulet @ Raffles City

Review: Poulet @ Raffles City
A new French restaurant that has recently gotten the Halal certification. A 2 pax set was chosen with the choice of 2 appetisers, 2 mains and 2 desserts. Drinks excluded. Its $50 per set and by the time you include the drinks and taxes it comes to about $70. For main dish, we chose Sea Bass with vegetables (no rice in it) and Chicken Carbonara. And for desserts, we had milk pudding and mango pudding. Quantity is limited but the taste is there…only because it is an acquired taste. But if it is your first French, you may not fancy the food nor the presentation.

Chilli Crab @ Chai Chee Seafood

Review: Chiili Crab@ Chai Chee Seafood 359 Changi Road.
We had several dishes but principally we were there for the Chilli Crab. A mid-sized Chilli Crab serving will cost you about $72 but it can cater to between 4 to 6 pax no problem. While the portion remains good as we remember it, the taste is not as it used to be. The Chilli Crab back then was more ‘authentically Chai Chee Seafood’.

King’s Surf and Turf

Review: Extra Large Tomahawk (1.4 to 1.6kg) Fish and Chips x2 (Good for 4 – 6 pax) @ 324F Changi Road.
Get ready for a ride as this is truly for 6 pax enjoyment. I was there with my family given a treat for my 53rd birthday and it was a great venue choice. We chose the C meal package on the menu – Extra Large Tomahawk Fish and Chips at a price tag of a whooping $189.90. That set comes with everything that is mouth watering and photoshoot-ready presentation.

Hotpot Seafood Set

Review: Hotpot Seafood Set @ So Pho, Causeway Point B1-16.
I would consider this meal as the black sheep in the menu list. It looks appetising from the menu but the actual meal falls short on many fronts. First of all, except for the visibly 2 prawns, the meal looks more like a vegetarian set rather than a seafood set. That makes the pricing for this choice ‘hefty’ at $13.50 (an above average price given the average meal costs about $10-$12). The taste is not wonderfully Vietnamese which makes this meal a good miss when you choose to try out So Pho. The meal comes with rice in a bowl.

Vietnamese Fried Rice with Seafood

Review: Vietnamese Fried Rice Seafood @ So Pho, Causeway Point B1-16.
Listed as a chef favourite this Vietnamese Fried Rice or known as Co’m Chien Hai San / Bo meal cost $10.80. This is what like about the meal, reasonable portion, good presentation and above all, it taste nice. The flavour won’t disappoint you and may even get you coming back for more.

Tom Yum Hor Fun

Review: Tom Yum Hor Fun @ Sanook Kitchen, Woods Square B2-08.
Listed as one of the dishes under Noodles, this Tom Yum Hor Fun at just $5.90 is truly value for money. It tastes good and lives up to Sanook’s tagline ‘Cooking Authentic Thai Food’. With a generous portion, ample mushrooms and fresh prawns, this tasty dish should get you filled as a standalone lunch or dinner meal.
