Review: Poulet @ Raffles City

A visit was made on 22 Jan 2021 at 1.30pm to Poulet at 252 North Bridge Road B1-65/66 Raffles City Shopping Centre.

A new French restaurant that has recently gotten the Halal certification. A 2 pax set was chosen with the choice of 2 appetisers, 2 mains and 2 desserts. Drinks excluded. Its $50 per set and by the time you include the drinks and taxes it comes to about $70. For main dish, we chose Sea Bass with vegetables (no rice in it) and Chicken Carbonara. And for desserts, we had milk pudding and mango pudding. Quantity is limited but the taste is there...only because it is an acquired taste. But if it is your first French, you may not fancy the food nor the presentation.

Branding and Customer Experience

Poulet is chicken in French and when we decided to try the place, we were told at the counter that chicken will not be served (no reasons given) and I thought it is odd that for a 'chicken place' the chicken as the main meal is not available for lunch time. Service was good. The ambiance is nothing French to it so if you were not told that it is a French restaurant, you would think that you are at just a neutral concept restaurant.
