Andes by AstonBy Fahmi RaisReview: Porterhouse (Andes by Aston) @ 6 Woodlands Square. This outlet is a new Andes by Aston outlet. It is located at Woodlands Square just beside the Woodlands Civic Centre. We ordered 1 Porterhouse, 1 Black Pepper Steak and 1 Grilled Fish. Not the best that I have tasted for the food ordered but definitely ranked among the top. The portion and the tenderness is as expected with a near perfect score for taste. Ambiance is good and outlet is in a good location.Price is on the mid to semi-high scale with the porterhouse costing $29.90, the tenderloin at 28.90 and the grilled fish at 16.90.  Then again if the taste is good and experience is great, the price is not a key factor but here is where the problem starts - their service. So a 3 pax dining can take your in the $80 + range.
CoffeeBy mdiqbuzzCoffee not bad Good Ambience - it's an early morning 7 am. - cool - not crowded at Marsiling Hawker centre
Buffet TownBy Fahmi RaisReview: Buffet Town @ Raffles City, #B1-44E, 252 North Bridge Road Come only if you are really hungry otherwise it will be such a waste unless money is not an issue. Dinner is more than $48.80++ (more than $60 per adult !) so you really want to make it value for money. Spread variety is so extensive from international sea food, asian cuisines, mixed grill, tepanyaki etc etc. However drinks are limited to hot drinks and for cold drinks only cold water and green tea. The taste are generally good and serving is good for single to max 2. Just use the tablet to order as much and often as you want. If you can spend and you can eat, this is place is heaven for family and group.
Teh Tarik CartelBy mdiqbuzzMy Quick Fix Tea time with curry puff Sgd2 for 3 or grrrr sgd1 for 1. Tea is nice. Ambience hawker environment. No complaints. It get me by for the next meal..
Thai Fish BurgerBy Fahmi RaisReview: Thai Fish Burger @ Citrus by the Pool Surprising almost a full house during the visit. Ordered homemade Thai Fish Burger and Red Tom Yam Chicken with Rice. The Thai Fish Burger is about $16 and the Tom Yam is $17 (the Tom Yam is a set with drink). The burger is quite sizeable with generous fries as the side. The Tom Yam taste good, rich in taste and ingredients and a little on the spicy side but great. Both are value for money.
Poulet @ Raffles CityBy Fahmi RaisReview: Poulet @ Raffles City A new French restaurant that has recently gotten the Halal certification. A 2 pax set was chosen with the choice of 2 appetisers, 2 mains and 2 desserts. Drinks excluded. Its $50 per set and by the time you include the drinks and taxes it comes to about $70. For main dish, we chose Sea Bass with vegetables (no rice in it) and Chicken Carbonara. And for desserts, we had milk pudding and mango pudding. Quantity is limited but the taste is there...only because it is an acquired taste. But if it is your first French, you may not fancy the food nor the presentation.
Asian Market CafeBy Fahmi RaisReview: Asian Market Cafe @ Fairmont Hotel It was a couple for 2 and the place looks empty. Reservation is staggered and I got the 3rd (last) slot at 8.45pm timing. Due to Covid, Asian Market Cafe also offers the ala carte buffet.  The price for adult dinner is $86++. They served the cold dish/appetiser, followed by 7-8 bowls of Asian dishes and lastly the dessert. On top of what they readily served to you without you picking your order, you can also request for additional dishes eg laksa, satay and prate. Nothing western. For drinks you can ask for a free flow of plum juice, coffee or tea (both hot or cold).  That is quite limited though I got to admit the ice tea tarik is so nice you'll be asking for more. Yes you will be filled to the brim with the choices but I would think that it is overpriced for local dishes. The taste however while fine dining standard lacks the quality and presentation as you can find at Straits Kitchen or Carousel.
Straits Kitchen @ Hyatt HotelBy Fahmi RaisReview: Straits Kitchen Straits Kitchen is touted as the best dining experience you can get on Scotts Road. And they do consistently live up to the reputation. At $69++ for adult dinner / $39 for child ($59++ for adult lunch / $29 for child), trust me it is worth your every dollar there. Because of Covid, the buffet is now an ala carte-buffet. You can download the menu or request for one and order for as much as you can eat. The extensive hot and cold beverages are all free flow. Each serving is good for a couple so that will give you an indication of what to expect in terms of quantity. No doubt about quality, they are all superb. They got 4 items in the Appetiser, 9 items in the Malay BBQ category, another 9 items under Indian covering Tandoori, Curry and vegetarian selections + 4 different kinds of Indian bread. 8 items under Chinese, 4 under Noodle. For Rice, you can try the signature Chicken Rice and/or the Roasted Duck Rice. And to conclude the meals, you have 9 hot favourites Desserts.
Yong Tau Foo @ Bagus Causeway PointBy Fahmi RaisReview: Yong Tau Foo @ Bagus Causeway Point Its a must try when you are at Bagus, Causeway Point. The choices are quite extensive and a plate of minimum 7 pieces will just costs you $5.20 with 50 cents more if you ask for a bowl of rice or yellow mee. But do check as some of the items costs more (ie not part of the 7 choices for the standard price). The sambal is nice. Always a good choice when you are lost for choice.
